Characteristics

The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii’, also known as a Snake Plant or Mother-In-Law’s Tongue, is an evergreen perennial with strap-shaped leaves that grow vertically with a slight twist. Each leaf has varying colors and patterns, many of which mimicking the look of scales on a snakes back.

How to Care for Snake Plants

  • Light: Thrives in medium indirect light but can tolerate both high and low lighting conditions if given time to acclimate.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. Drought tolerant and a low-maintenance favorite.
  • Special Care/Notes: Extremely low-maintenance plant suitable for any plant-lover. Fertilize sparingly with a well-balanced fertilizer. Find additional care instructions here!

*Plant and pot sold separately.

"Walked around for two hours. So many options for trees and shrubs, annuals, vegetable plants, house plants. Also great cards and gifts."

"Every time I've gone into this place has been a lovely time. Their plant selection is terrific, with beautiful sculptures and even turtles hanging out! Took a class with Evan today and made bookmarks, I plan on coming back to take more classes."

- Alex Dolce, June 2025

"Great plants and gifts! Beautiful rose bushes! We bought 20!"

- Stacy Herron, January 2023

"This is a beautiful garden store in Ft. Collins, Colo. This isn't a discount store but the quality of their plants and merchandise are good quality. We are a cactus/succulent family and we found some very healthy plants, some different than we have found previously. Large facility broken up into manageable rooms for browsing. The employees are there if you need them and the young man at the register was pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. If you enjoy spending time at a nursery/garden store there is no reason not to enjoy the Bath Garden Center."
