Characteristics

Hoya Wayetii is a vining plant native to the Philippines. It is known for its long, thin leaves and clusters of star-shaped flowers. The leaves range from a forest green border to a yellow-green center, dappled with pink hues. They are about 2-3 inches long and 1 inch wide. The flowers are white or pink with a sweet fragrance. They are about 1 inch in diameter.

How to Care for Hoya

  • Light: Bright indirect light is best, though the plant can tolerate moderate to low indirect light.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry significantly between watering. Prefers periodic deep watering over frequent shallow watering.
  • Special Care/Notes: In the summer, fertilize with a high-phosphorus fertilizer to promote the fragrant flowers to emerge.
