Characteristics
The cast iron houseplant (Aspidistra elatior) is a classic choice for a reason: it's incredibly tough and easy to care for. Its common name is a testament to its resilience, as it can withstand conditions that would cause other plants to wither. This makes it an ideal plant for beginners or for those who simply want a beautiful, low-maintenance addition to their home.
How to Care for Cast Iron Plants
- Light: Thrives in moderate indirect light, but is an excellent low-light plant.
- Water Preferences: Water thoroughly then allow the soil to dry out nearly completely before watering again.
- Special Care/Notes: Especially susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Use a well-balanced fertilizer during the growing season to bring out variegation.

"Beautiful nursery filled with the most beautiful selection and variety of anything you can think of! Trees, flowers, indoor/outdoor plants of every kind you can imagine, a wide variety of fantastic retail products and more! Very great customer service from the staff and available to help with a smile. A bit on the pricier side compared to other nurseries in the area, but also worth the money spent on quality products! Will definitely be back 😊"

"Great place for plants and gifts."

"One of my favorite places to get plants! The people there are always friendly and helpful. They are pet friendly, so I always bring my dog. She can be a bit much to handle in public, so I don’t take her out often. BUT whenever I go to Bath the people there always help me out with her! Every time I go to Bath I leave happier and with a new plant!"
