Botanical Interests Gardener's Delight Pole Cherry Tomato Seeds

The name says it all Also called 'Sugar Lump', these bite-sized wonderfully sweet flavorful fruits are truly a delight! Pop a few of these sweet delights in your mouth while gardening! Reviews have proclaimed this 1950s German heirloom the best cherry tomato; extra sweet and packed with flavor. Produces many clusters of 6–12 tomatoes all summer until frost. Vigorous vines easily reach 6' long.

Sowing Information:

  • When to Sow Outside: Not recommended.
  • When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when the air temperature is 45°F or warmer, usually 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date. The ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°–90°F.
  • Days to Emerge: 5–10 days
  • Seed Depth: 1/8th inch
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 24-36 inches
  • Row Spacing: 36 inches
  • Thinning: When 2 inches tall, thin to 1 every 24-36 inches
  • Days to Maturity: 65 days from transplanting

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: 'Gardener's Delight' are at the peak of sun-ripened deliciousness when bright red, and have a slight give when gently squeezed. Because 'Gardener's Delight' tends to crack, we recommend picking them at the "first blush" stage, when 50% of the tomatoes' color has begun to change, and ripened at room temperature without decreasing flavor or nutrition.
  • Hardiness: Frost-sensitive annual
  • Variety Information: Bright red, ¾"–1½", bite-sized tomatoes in clusters of 6–12.
  • Type: Indeterminate, Cherry
