Characteristics

Hoya Pubicalyx is a vining plant native to the Philippines. The leaves of Hoya Pubicalyx are long, narrow, and lanceolate. They are typically dark green with a silvery sheen. Some varieties may have variegated leaves with pink, white, or yellow markings. The flowers are white or pink with a sweet fragrance. Hoya publicly can grow up to 6 feet long, but it is a slow grower.

How to Care for Hoya

  • Light: Bright indirect light is best, though the plant can tolerate moderate to low indirect light.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry significantly between watering. Prefers periodic deep watering over frequent shallow watering.
  • Special Care/Notes: In the summer, fertilize with a high-phosphorus fertilizer to promote the fragrant flowers to emerge.

"It was our third class at Bath Garden Center. It's always so much fun for me and my kids. Everybody is very friendly and it's always very fun. We'll keep going to your classes. Highly recommend!"

"I stopped by Bath Garden Center and Nursery today and was unexpectedly surprised. This family-owned garden center is fantastic. The variety of outdoor and indoor plants is shocking. They also sell pots for every taste. I got two indoor plants and went to the cashier. Lauren was excellent at taking me to an available cashier and ringing me up. She kindly offered to put my chosen plants into the new pots I bought. I wish this family had more stores across Colorado."
