Characteristics

The String of Turtles plant (Peperomia prostrata) is a popular succulent vine known for its adorable, round leaves resembling tiny turtle shells. This easy-care houseplant thrives in bright, indirect light and infrequent watering, making it perfect for beginners. Its trailing vines reach about 1 foot in length, ideal for hanging baskets or shelves. Non-toxic to pets and humans.

How to Care for String of Turtles

  • Light: Bright indirect light, full sun can scorch the pearls
  • Water Preferences: Thrives in a warm, dry environment. Allow the soil to dry almost completely before watering again.
  • Special Care/Notes: Very susceptible to overwatering. Avoid roots staying submerged in water in a container with no drainage holes. Place in a brightly lit room, but out of direct sunlight.
