Characteristics

Hoya australis, or waxvine, is a charming Australian climber with glossy, succulent leaves. This easy-care vine loves bright, indirect light and infrequent watering. It produces clusters of star-shaped, fragrant white flowers with a red blush throughout the year. Perfect for beginners, Hoya australis thrives with neglect between waterings and adds a touch of elegance to any space.

How to Care for Hoya

  • Light: Bright indirect light is best, though the plant can tolerate moderate to low indirect light.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry significantly between watering. Prefers periodic deep watering over frequent shallow watering.
  • Special Care/Notes: In the summer, fertilize with a high-phosphorus fertilizer to promote the fragrant flowers to emerge.

*Ships within Colorado only* To ensure plants are delivered with the most care, we ship plants Monday-Wednesday. Plants purchased after Wednesday or over the weekend will be shipped on the following Monday. Check out our shipping policies for more information. Thank you!

"It's so beautiful inside! They always have fun fairy 🧚‍♀️ garden items. The Christmas Open House is spectacular. They have a fun selection of clothes. There's a beautiful area to enjoy with turtles 🐢! And of course, they gave plenty of landscaping plants as well as indoor plants and items to care for them all!"
