Characteristics

Epipremnum aureum, or the Marble Queen Pothos, is a highly variegated cultivar with vining, glossy heart-shaped leaves. This distinctive variety tends to be more creamy white than green with heavy variegation in the leaves. Only the green parts of the leaves can make energy for the plant, so in low light, the leaves will compensate for the lack of light by turning green. Keep this plant in brighter, indirect light to preserve its variegation.

How to Care for Marble Queen Pothos

  • Light: Thrives in bright indirect light but can easily tolerate low-light environments. Avoid placing in direct sunlight as leaves may burn.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry out slightly in between watering. Water around every 9-14 days depending on what kind of light the plant receives.
  • Special Care/Notes: This plant loves to climb, providingng a trellis or allowing the plant to trail produces much larger leaves. Though it can tolerate low-light environments, it may lose some of its variegation without enough bright indirect light.
