Characteristics

Lithops, aptly named "living stones," are small marvels of the succulent world. They're masters of disguise, mimicking pebbles found in their native South African habitat. Joined at the base, these leaves resemble plump stones, often with camouflage-like markings of greys, browns, and earthy tones. Some varieties boast intricate patterns and vibrant colours like orange and yellow.

How to Care for Lithops

  • Light: At least 4-6 hours of bright light per day, they love the sun!
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry significantly between watering. Lithops store water and can go 1-2 weeks in between watering. Water very sparingly outside of it's growing season in the winter.
  • Special Care/Notes: Plant in well-draining soil such as cactus soil.

"I was in there today may 17th 2025 and two very lovely employees helped me out! One was a guy (cashier) other was a young woman in a hat. The guy asked if I would like the plant repotted and informed me that I needed a bigger pot for the plant to grow in. The girl walked me back to the pots and helped me pick the right size! They were very friendly and helpful they made my visit there amazing! I hope you know who I am talking about so you can give them recognition!"
