Characteristics
The common Aloe vera plant is a short-stemmed succulent shrub that has thick and fleshy leaves ranging in color from silvery green, to light green, to dark green and sometimes showing white flecks on the upper and lower stem surfaces. The margin of each leaf is serrated with small white teeth, and all of the leaves grow upright in a rosette.
How to Care for Aloe Vera
- Light: Bright light is preferred but it can tolerate medium light conditions.
- Water Preferences: Let the soil dry completely between watering. Cut back on watering during the winter to avoid overwatering.
- Special Care/Notes: The strength of the light plant is placed in may change the color of the plant. They are sensitive to overwatering. Find additional care instructions here!
