Lake Valley Danvers Half Long Carrot Seeds

Sweet and crunchy, with dark orange, fine grained 6-7″ roots and generous yields. This hardy variety is easy to grow, stores well and stays crisp when cooked. Perfect for deep containers and shallow gardens. Before planting, loosen the soil to a depth of 8″ to help the roots grow straight.

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full Sun
  • When to Start Inside: Not recommended; root disturbance stunts growth.
  • When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks before your average last frost date, and when the soil temperature is at least 45°F, ideally 60°–85°F. Successive Sowings: Every 3 weeks until 10 to 12 weeks before your average first fall frost date.
  • Seed Depth: ¼ inch
  • Seed Spacing: 1 inch apart in rows 6 inches apart
  • Thinning: When 1 inch tall, thin to 1 every 3 inches
  • Days to Germinate: 10–21 days
  • Days to Maturity: 75 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Loosen the soil with a garden fork before harvesting. Cut off the green tops 1/4-1/2″ from the top of the carrot, and rinse and dry the root before storage.
  • Hardiness: Frost-tolerant biennial grown as an annual

"Every time I walk into Bath I’m greeted by the kindest and most helpful people! Additionally they have a fantastic selection of everything you can think of! (I’ve even bought clothing and jewelry here! It’s much more than just a nursery). Today I had the good fortune of being greeted and helped by Wyatt. I went in with absolutely no idea what to do with my garden spaces…they’re huge and overwhelming. I showed Wyatt photos of my spaces and jokingly asked Wyatt if he could just design my spaces for me….and he replied “yes!”….he took me around, asked what I liked, told me how to mix color, grasses and heights, etc…he was a wealth of info and help! I’m so grateful and I love how it all turned out! Thank you, Bath, for having great products, and a special BIG shoutout to Wyatt! You are awesome!!! (Also, Wyatt should get a bonus because I walked out with 22 perennials😂)."

"Very cute shop. Huge variety of plants and associated esoterica. They have the biggest monstera I've ever seen growing in their turtle pond!!"

"Bath Garden Center has a huge selection of plants. I always buy more than I planned on buying. I'd like to say I hate them for it... But I actually love their selections! And the staff are friendly and helpful. Always a great place to go! 😀"
