Botanical Interests Organic Utah Celery Seeds

Imagine slicing that first, big, beautiful bunch of celery from the earth in your garden. You can harvest individual stalks when just 6" tall or wait for the bunch to mature. Celery grows best in climates with long, mild-temperature seasons, but with a few helpful tips, it can be grown almost anywhere.

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full to partial sun
  • When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 10 to 12 weeks before your average last frost date for spring harvest, or 10 to 12 weeks before transplanting outdoors for fall crop. Biodegradable pots minimize root disturbance at transplanting. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 70°–75°F.
  • When to Sow Outside: Recommended for mild climates only. 1 to 2 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 50°F, or in fall for cool–season harvest.
  • Seed Depth: Press into surface
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 6 inches in rows 24-36 inches apart
  • Thinning: When 1 inch tall, thin to 1 every 6 inches
  • Days to Emerge: 5–30 days
  • Days to Maturity: 100-200 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Harvest outer stalks when they are at least 6" tall or harvest entire bunch when stalks have reached 10"-12". Cut with a sharp knife at the base. Harvest in the morning. Dunk celery in ice water and drain before storing to reduce field heat. If celery is bitter, refrigeration for 2 to 3 days will reduce bitterness.
  • Variety Information: Tall, dark green, thick, smooth stalks (leaf petioles). Frost tolerant.

"Epically magical plant store! The turtles, the monstera, the euphorbia, the beauty! I also was able to snag a great deal on a hoya that I've wanted for a while. All in all, a great place to stop on our road trip 😸"

"Great stop anytime. Picked up Colorado peaches last stop."

"My husband and I did a terrarium class last weekend. The class was fantastic - great value, and now I have a beautiful little terrarium!"

"It's so beautiful inside! They always have fun fairy 🧚‍♀️ garden items. The Christmas Open House is spectacular. They have a fun selection of clothes. There's a beautiful area to enjoy with turtles 🐢! And of course, they gave plenty of landscaping plants as well as indoor plants and items to care for them all!"
