Characteristics

The Euphorbia milii or 'Crown of Thorns' is an easy-to-care-for succulent shrub featuring fleshy bright green leaves, flowers surrounded by showy bracts, and thick black thorns covering its water-storing branches and stems.

How to Care for Crown of Thorns

  • Light: Full sun/bright indirect light
  • Water Preferences: Let the soil dry almost completely before watering again. Reduce watering frequency during winter.
  • Special Care/Notes: Wet soils, particularly in winter, can be fatal. Best located in areas with good air circulation.

"Amelia was a great help today assisting us in finding some plants for our yard. I would highly recommend her and Bath Garden Center and Nursery for any of your landscaping needs."

"No matter what I am at Bath for, there are always helpful employees to help me find what I need or tips on how to care for indoor or outdoor plants. They also carry pots, trellises, soil, and interesting plants of all kinds! I was also pleasantly surprised to find compost worms available for purchase without a special preorder. Thank you for being awesome!"
