Characteristics

The Sansevieria zeylanica, also known as the snake plant or mother-in-law's tongue, is a popular and tough indoor plant.  Prized for its architectural form and low-maintenance needs, it features upright, sword-like leaves with dark green bands and a lighter green edging.

How to Care for Snake Plants

  • Light: Thrives in medium indirect light but can tolerate both high and low lighting conditions if given time to acclimate.
  • Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. Extremely drought tolerant and a low-maintenance favorite.  
  • Special Care/Notes: Extremely low-maintenance plant suitable for any plant-lover. Fertilize sparingly with a well-balanced fertilizer.
