The Watermelon Peperomia (Peperomia argyreia) is a small houseplant prized for its vibrant, watermelon-like foliage. Its rounded, plump leaves boast a shimmery green base with stripes of silvery-white, resembling a watermelon rind. This easy-to-care-for plant enjoys bright, indirect light and infrequent watering, making it a great choice for beginners.
How to Care for Peperomia
- Light: Thrives in bright indirect light, although it can tolerate a wide range of light conditions.
- Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry significantly between watering. Prefers periodic deep watering over frequent shallow watering.
- Special Care/Notes: A very adaptable plant, great for collectors of all skill levels. Likes to be rootbound and does not like temperatures below 55°F.
