Characteristics
The Silver Dollar Jade (Crassula arborescens 'Silver Dollar') is a succulent shrub with stunning foliage. Its round, blue-grey leaves have a contrasting maroon edge and resemble silver dollars. This low-maintenance plant grows as a multi-branched shrub with upright stems.
How to Care for Jade Plants
- Light: Full to part sun. Can tolerate bright indirect light also.
- Water Preferences: Always let the soil dry almost completely before watering again. Reduce watering frequency during the winter, and water liberally during the growing season.
- Special Care/Notes: These plants make excellent bonsai specimens as they do very well when root-bound. The best time to repot is when new growth appears for the upcoming growing season. Prune to encourage branching.
