Characteristics

Neon Algerian Ivy, also known as Hedera canariensis, is a popular houseplant cherished for its lush green foliage and climbing abilities. As a member of the ivy family, it shares similarities with other ivy species but has its own unique characteristics that make it a desirable choice for indoor cultivation. The leaves of the Neon Algerian Ivy houseplant are glossy, leathery, and a bright, neon green in color.

How to Care for Algerian Ivy

  • Light: Prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate a wide range of light conditions.
  • Water Preferences: Let soil dry out in between waterings, but not for too long. Water when the top inch or two of soil becomes dry.
  • Special Care/Notes: Remember, shady areas require less water. Root rot and spider mites are common with Ivy. Try Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew for organic pest control.

"Awesome selection of stuff. Staff was extremely helpful and took it to the next level in finding what I needed."

"I stopped by Bath Garden Center and Nursery today and was unexpectedly surprised. This family-owned garden center is fantastic. The variety of outdoor and indoor plants is shocking. They also sell pots for every taste. I got two indoor plants and went to the cashier. Lauren was excellent at taking me to an available cashier and ringing me up. She kindly offered to put my chosen plants into the new pots I bought. I wish this family had more stores across Colorado."

"I was in there today may 17th 2025 and two very lovely employees helped me out! One was a guy (cashier) other was a young woman in a hat. The guy asked if I would like the plant repotted and informed me that I needed a bigger pot for the plant to grow in. The girl walked me back to the pots and helped me pick the right size! They were very friendly and helpful they made my visit there amazing! I hope you know who I am talking about so you can give them recognition!"
