Characteristics
The Ficus elastica ‘Tineke’ is a variegated Rubber Plant. It is an evergreen tree species that produces oval, glossy, leathery green leaves with mint green and cream tones. Some leaves might have a slight pink flush to them, but this often fades and is not as intense as its sister plant the Ficus 'Ruby'. This plant is an excellent air purifier.
How to Care for Rubber Trees
- Light: Bright indirect light
- Water Preferences: Allow the soil to dry somewhat between watering. Prefers periodic deep watering over frequent shallow watering.
- Special Care/Notes: The strength of light the plant is placed in affects variegation pattern and color. If the leaves begin to drop, try moving the plant to a brighter area and make sure no cold drafts are present.
