Characteristics
Asparagus ferns are a fun indoor houseplant known for their fluorescent green, textured foliage similar to feathers, but not quite as soft. Its stems can climb rapidly in the right conditions and will become woody and prickly over time. You may not know that the Asparagus fern is not a true fern but part of the Asparagus family!
How to Care for Asparagus Fern
- Light: Part to full shade or indirect light. Direct sun exposure will burn these plants.
- Water Preferences: Keep soil evenly and consistently moist. A well-draining pot and soil are essential for success.
- Special Care/Notes: Plants that like ample and consistent moisture need soil that can drain and retain enough moisture to stay moist, but not waterlogged. A top-dressing of bark can help increase humidity around the plant without increasing watering frequency.
