Characteristics

The Boobie cactus is a unique and eye-catching cactus that is small, slow-growing and typically only reaches about 6 inches to 1 foot in height and width. The most distinctive feature is its segmented, bulbous stems that can be deep blue to green in color. This rare cactus produces small, pink flowers in the spring and summer, but flowering is not very frequent.

How to Care for the Boobie Cactus

  • Light: Bright indirect light
  • Water Preferences: Let the soil dry almost completely before watering again. Reduce watering frequency during winter.
  • Special Care/Notes: Wet soils, particularly in winter, can be fatal. Best located in areas with good air circulation.

*Ships within Colorado only* To ensure plants are delivered with the most care, we ship plants Monday-Wednesday. Plants purchased after Wednesday or over the weekend will be shipped on the following Monday. Check out our shipping policies for more information. Thank you!

"I brought my girls here to have a homeschool lesson about botany for their science study! We had one of their employees, Evan, walk us around the center and take us into the greenhouses. I felt like he went above and beyond to help my girls with what they need to know and it was great! My kids had a great time and he knew what he was talking about. Thanks again Evan!"
