Most popular deep purple variety due to large flowers size, vigorous growth habit and consistent flowering. Flowers are deeper purple and larger than original Jackmanii. Blooms on new growth midsummer, & then again on new shoots in early fall. The second round will likely produce smaller flowers. Prune in late winter or early spring as new leaf buds appear low on the plant.
