Vigorous ornamental plants that add the final touch to your herb garden. Thrives in well-drained soil and is hardy at least to zone 5. Tarragon’s linear to lance-shaped leaves grow on plants that can reach 5′ tall. Greenish-white flower clusters appear in June or July.

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full sun
  • When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 6 to 8 weeks before your average last frost date. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°–80°F.
  • When to Sow Outside: Select a sunny site with moderately rich soil. Where temperatures dip below 0°F, mulch well before the ground freezes. Tarragon does best in areas where it does have a period of winter dormancy.

  • Days to Emerge: 7-14 days
  • Days to Mature: 90 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Harvest should occur in late July. Tarragon leaves, like basil, bruise easily. Handle with care during the harvest and drying process.
  • Attributes: Russian Tarragon produces hardy plants which make a great addition to any herbaceous border. Established plants may be pruned to fit the confines of your herbal garden.

"A plant lovers paradise."

- Devon Gates, May 2024

"Wow! What a wonderful first time to Bath!! The staff is beautiful!! Professional, knowledgeable and so willing to help and inform. The selection of indoor plants (this is what I came in for) is spectacular and the care they give their plants is exceptional. Hundreds of plants and in my time at Bath saw not one brown leaf. No dying plants and no unhealthy plants which tells me that they are meticulous in their care. I would like to give a shout out to “The Sheriff.” I believe her real name is Martha! Unbelievable human being. They went over and above to help me find the perfect oversized houseplant. They made it a beautiful experience and not just a buying experience. Sheriff!! You made me a happy man, customer and future customer of Bath!! ✌🏼❤️"
