Botanical Interests Heirloom Rosemary Seeds

Fall in love with the wonderful aroma of this versatile herb. It complements meats and vegetables, brings its unique, piney flavor to bread, and blends well with other herbs. A beautiful ornamental, it grows well in containers, and pollinators love the lavender flowers.

Sowing Information: 

  • Light: Full sun
  • When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 10 to 12 weeks before your average last frost date. The ideal soil temperature is 65°–75°F.
  • When to Sow Outside: In cold climates, sow in containers to grow outside during summer and inside during winter.
  • Seed Depth: Surface
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 5 seeds every 12–18 inches
  • Row Spacing: 36 inches
  • Thinning: When 1 inch tall, thin to 1 every 12 inches
  • Days to Emerge: 15–30 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Remove sprigs as needed. Rosemary is most fragrant and flavorful just before blooms appear.
  • Variety Information: Very narrow, ½–1 inch long, gray-green, evergreen needle-like leaves have a piney, astringent flavor and spicy, pine aroma.
  • Attributes: Deer-resistant, drought-tolerant, good for containers
