Botanical Interests Organic Italian Roma Bush Tomato Seeds

An absolutely excellent heirloom tomato—firm, meaty, 3" oblong fruits with few seeds, on compact vines that are very productive. As a determinate type, most of the fruits ripen at the same time, which makes this tomato a good choice for canning. In areas with a long growing season, a second planting will double your harvest!

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full Sun
  • When to Sow Outside: For mild climates only: 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F.
  • When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when air temperature is 45°F or warmer, usually 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°–90°F.
  • Days to Emerge: 5–10 days
  • Seed Depth: 1/4th inch
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 24-36 inches
  • Row Spacing: 36 inches
  • Thinning: When 2 inches tall, thin to 1 every 24-36 inches
  • Days to Maturity: 70-90 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Italian Roma' tomatoes are at the peak of sun-ripened deliciousness when red, and have a slight give when gently squeezed.
  • Hardiness: Frost-sensitive annual
  • Variety Information: 3" x 1 ½", 5-6 oz. oblong, red fruits with few seeds. Italian 'Roma' is a determinate type tomato.
  • Type: Determinate, Paste Tomato

"I was in there today may 17th 2025 and two very lovely employees helped me out! One was a guy (cashier) other was a young woman in a hat. The guy asked if I would like the plant repotted and informed me that I needed a bigger pot for the plant to grow in. The girl walked me back to the pots and helped me pick the right size! They were very friendly and helpful they made my visit there amazing! I hope you know who I am talking about so you can give them recognition!"
