Lake Valley Broadleaf Sage Heirloom Seeds

Sage's flavor is bold and assertive and considered very valuable as a digestive aid to high-fat foods, such as pork, wild game, and cheese. Often paired with stuffing, it also livens up vegetables, potatoes, soups, and stews. This drought-tolerant plant also has edible, purple-blue flowers that attract pollinators, and the gray-green foliage provides an excellent contrast in the garden or containers.

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full sun to part shade
  • When to Start Inside: 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, when the soil temperature is at least 50°F.
  • When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 6 to 8 weeks before your average last frost date.
  • Seed Depth: ¼ inch
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 12–18 inches

"I love this place. Their customer service is absolutely outstanding. The staff has a great amount of knowledge. Anytime I have an issue with a plant, I pluck a leaf off of it put it in a ziplock bag, and then take it in. The staff easily assesses what the issues are and educates me on how to tackle the issue."
