Lake Valley Heirloom Mammoth Dill Seeds

Delightful lacy leaves topped with large flower clusters. This is the tallest and most productive dill variety, prized for both fresh use and pickling. Leaves often are used as a dried herb. 

Sowing Information:

  • Light: Full sun
  • When to Start Inside: 8 to 10 weeks before your average last frost date. Sow in biodegradable pots that can be planted directly in the ground.
  • When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F. Successive Sowings: Every 2 to 3 weeks to ensure a continual fresh supply of foliage and seeds.
  • Seed Depth: Plant seeds ¼ inch deep
  • Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 4 inches
  • Row Spacing: 12 inches
  • Thinning: When 3 inches tall, thin to 1 every 4 inches
  • Days to Germinate: 7-14 days
  • Days to Maturity: 85 days

Growing Notes:

  • Harvesting: Cut the leaves anytime as needed. For pickling, cut seed heads before yellow flowers appear. Allow flowers to produce seeds for dried use.
  • Attributes: Attracts Pollinators, Deer Resistant
