Quinault Ever Bearing Strawberry Plant

The Quinault Ever Bearing Strawberries produce fruit on un-rooted runners making it a winner for strawberry pots or container gardening. Great for fresh eating, jams and jellies, and baking! This variety of strawberries are also bee-friendly, winter hardy, and freezes well.

  • Light: Full sun
  • Planting instructions: The most common method for planting strawberries is in the matted row system in well-drained soil. Set your new plants 18-24 inches apart. Be careful to keep the crown just at the soil surface, do not plant too deep or they might rot, or too shallow as they will heave. Water well at time of planting and continue irrigation through September as drought stress will affect harvest. Fertilize if necessary.
  • Mature Height: 8-10 inches
  • Additional Notes: For best results, keep your planting area weed-free and water regularly Protect from severe cold and frost by mulching with 3-4 inches of straw in late fall. Remove mulch in spring as temperatures moderate. Remove flowers for the first two months so that the plants produce more runners. Hardy in zones 4-8.

"No matter what I am at Bath for, there are always helpful employees to help me find what I need or tips on how to care for indoor or outdoor plants. They also carry pots, trellises, soil, and interesting plants of all kinds! I was also pleasantly surprised to find compost worms available for purchase without a special preorder. Thank you for being awesome!"
