Ozark Beauty Strawberry Plant

Ever bearing variety of large sweet berries; best suited for northern climates and high elevations in the south. Ozark Beauty strawberry plants are a popular choice for home gardeners due to their high yields, delicious fruit, and ease of care. This variety of strawberries are also bee-friendly, winter-hardy, and freezes well.

  • Light: Full sun
  • Planting instructions: The most common method for planting strawberries is in the matted row system in well-drained soil. Set your new plants 18-24 inches apart. Be careful to keep the crown just at the soil surface, do not plant too deep or they might rot, or too shallow as they will heave. Water well at time of planting and continue irrigation through September as drought stress will affect harvest. Fertilize if necessary.
  • Mature Height: 8-10 inches
  • Additional Notes: For best results, keep your planting area weed-free and water regularly Protect from severe cold and frost by mulching with 3-4 inches of straw in late fall. Remove mulch in spring as temperatures moderate. Remove flowers for the first two months so that the plants produce more runners. Hardy in zones 4-8.
