Colocasia Black Magic Elephant Ear - 1 Bulb

The Black Magic Colocasia plant boasts beautifully large dark-colored leaves that drape over like large elephant ears, reaching up to two feet long! This incredible variety boasts dusty purple-black foliage. Elephant ears make wonderful houseplants and can be grown in outdoor containers in Colorado during the warmer months! This variety of colocasia is bee-friendly and deer resistant.

  • Light: Full sun to partial shade
  • Planting instructions: Plant in Spring in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Maintain a pH level of 6 to 7 to bring out the true color of this foliage. Summer bulbs grown outdoors require a great deal of water immediately after planting and the soil in your containers should stay continuously moist, but not soggy. Plant after the danger of frost has passed.
  • Mature Height: 44-48 inches
  • Additional Notes: Colocasia is a great container plant, just make sure you have a big enough container for their large bulbs! Bring your colocasia indoors during the winter if possible as they may not survive the winter if left unprotected.

"A plant lovers paradise."

- Devon Gates, May 2024

"They have so much fun stuff to look at even if you're not buying plants! They also have a cool deal where, if you buy the container and the plant, they'll plant it for you. There's clothes, kitchen stuff, kids stuff, books, nick snacks, etc. My mom and I go in just to hang out and look at stuff sometimes, but last time, I got this plant. It went from beautiful to MAMMOTH and beautiful. We named her Victoria."

- Lee R., July 2025

"My husband and I did a terrarium class last weekend. The class was fantastic - great value, and now I have a beautiful little terrarium!"

- Lizz Porter, October 2024

"They really have such a wide variety of plants to choose from and very knowledgeable about what grow best in our area"
