Sweet Purple Asparagus - 10 Bulbs

Larger and more tender option to green asparagus. Wonderfully mild, nutty flavor when cooked; 20% higher sugar content than green varieties makes for more flavorful asparagus. Spears turn green when cooked.

  • Light: Full sun
  • Planting Instructions: Plant in well-draining soil in full sun. Resists fusarium, rust, and crown rot. For best results follow the planting instructions on the back of the package.
  • Mature Height: 24-36 inches
  • Additional Notes: Do not harvest asparagus the year it is planted. A light harvest may be taken during the second season. Harvest spears with tight tips by snapping the 7-9 inch stalks near the ground. Once established, pick all the spears produced. Do not allow them to fern out. This gives asparagus beetles a home to lay their eggs.

"My husband and I did a terrarium class last weekend. The class was fantastic - great value, and now I have a beautiful little terrarium!"

- Lizz Porter, October 2024

"I love this place. Their customer service is absolutely outstanding. The staff has a great amount of knowledge. Anytime I have an issue with a plant, I pluck a leaf off of it put it in a ziplock bag, and then take it in. The staff easily assesses what the issues are and educates me on how to tackle the issue."
