Elephant Garlic – 1 Bulb

This variety of the classic vegetable yields enormous bulbs of garlic. Garlic is easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun. Gardeners have found that planting garlic in their flower beds helps ward off Japanese beetles.

  • Light: Full sun
  • Harvest: Summer
  • Planting Depth: 4 inches
  • Bulbs Per Square Foot: 2
  • Planting Instructions: Garlic prefers to grow in cooler temperatures. Choose a sunny location with rich well-drained garden soil. For areas with heavy clay soils, amend with sand and organic matter for best results prior to planting. Garlic prefers a soil pH of 6.2-6.8 in a slightly dry area of the garden.
  • Mature Height: 36-48 inches
  • Additional Notes: Deer resistant, winter hardy, bee friendly. Pinch off any flowers that might develop as although they look nice, they consume energy that should be going into the finished bulb size.

"It's so beautiful inside! They always have fun fairy 🧚‍♀️ garden items. The Christmas Open House is spectacular. They have a fun selection of clothes. There's a beautiful area to enjoy with turtles 🐢! And of course, they gave plenty of landscaping plants as well as indoor plants and items to care for them all!"

"Epically magical plant store! The turtles, the monstera, the euphorbia, the beauty! I also was able to snag a great deal on a hoya that I've wanted for a while. All in all, a great place to stop on our road trip 😸"

"Every time I've gone into this place has been a lovely time. Their plant selection is terrific, with beautiful sculptures and even turtles hanging out! Took a class with Evan today and made bookmarks, I plan on coming back to take more classes."
