Extra Large Colocasia esculenta Elephant Ear - 1 Bulb

The Mojito Colocasia plant boasts beautifully large and wide green leaves that drape over like large elephant ears, reaching two to three feet long! Elephant ears make wonderful houseplants and can be grown in outdoor containers in Colorado during the warmer months! This variety of colocasia is deer-resistant.

  • Light: Full sun to partial shade
  • Planting instructions: Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Maintain a pH level of 6 to 7 to bring out the true color of this foliage. Summer bulbs grown outdoors require a great deal of water immediately after planting, and the soil in your containers should stay continuously moist, but not soggy. Plant after the danger of frost has passed in the Spring.
  • Mature Height: 30-60 inches
  • Additional Notes: Colocasia is a great container plant, just make sure you have a big enough container for their large bulbs! Bring your colocasia indoors during the winter if possible, as they may not survive the winter if left unprotected. Hardy to zones 8-10.

"What a fun and whimsical nursery. There is something for everyone. It feels like every turn you find another treasure. Pricing is boutique-like but plenty of items on the under $15 side. We went in today for greeting cards and found the perfect cards for my grandma. I've purchased many garden supplies and plants here as well. They always have great quality and variety. The owner is amazing, generous, and community focused."

"I brought my girls here to have a homeschool lesson about botany for their science study! We had one of their employees, Evan, walk us around the center and take us into the greenhouses. I felt like he went above and beyond to help my girls with what they need to know and it was great! My kids had a great time and he knew what he was talking about. Thanks again Evan!"

"It's always good to check out the koi pond and see the turtles. The plants are beautiful, and they have a good selection of soils and pots. Awesome selection of herbs too! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable."
